URA's plans to develop the central region of Singapore into a vibrant living place with more natural parks and better connectivity are set to improve the neighbourhood surrounding Zyon Grand. Key areas that will positively impact the Zyon Grand include:
1. Enhanced connectivity and mobility by 2026
The much-anticipated stage 6 of the Circle Line opening by 2026 will facilitate faster and smoother commute between Marina Bay and Harbourfront. The new Thomson-East Coast Line and Cross Island Line (Phase 1) will also improve accessibility to the central region.
2. Bringing more nature to everyday living
Several projects are underway to introduce more greenery to residents living in the central region. For starters, the upcoming Pasir Panjang Linear Park is a key recreational corridor linking West Coast Park to Labrador Park Nature Reserve. It will offer a glimpse of the workings of Singapore's world-class container port.
The Gallop extension at Singapore Botanical Gardens will be Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage. It comprises the earliest surviving black-and-white bungalow, the new Forest Discovery Centre, an arboretum of dipterocarp forest trees, a restored ridge top habitat offering vantage points and an adventure hiking trail, as well as a biophilic play area.
The Bukit Timah-Rochor green walk, which is a 11 km corridor stretches from the Rail Corridor to the Kallang Riverside Park will form part of the Coast-to-Coast Trail and Nature Park Network that visitors can look forward to unique walking and cycling experiences set amidst lush greenery.
Connecting our Parks and Open Spaces
Singapore's vision of being a waterfront City in a Garden is embodied in its major green and open spaces like Fort Canning Park, Gardens by the Bay, and the Singapore River. Efforts are underway to enhance and connect these green and blue assets, including waterfront promenades, for greater public access and enjoyment. Plans include creating seamless, pleasant walks through city center spaces from the Singapore Botanic Gardens to Pearl's Hill City Park. Additionally, new vibrant pedestrian promenades along the Singapore River and potential green links at Merchant Road are in development, aiming to improve walkability and accessibility throughout the city.
Hill to Hill Connection Walk
Embark on a scenic walk from hill to hill, starting from the verdant landscapes of Fort Canning Park.
